Devlog #2 Battle Rough Draft
I’ve made a rough draft of the battle system I’m satisfied with for now. It’s evolved from complete-bare bones to actually playable!

I did decide to have a turn system similar to FFX. Characters can get extra turns per round if their speed is a lot higher than the slowest character. I’ve already implemented some skills that can push around the turn order. The hardest part was showing the turn order move to simulate the effects of the skills. It serves its purpose, but I have some ideas to make it better if I need more extreme panel changing moves in the future.
Effects aside, I hopefully won’t have to change the battle system too much from here on out. With my initial barebones battle system, I was just guessing for stats, but now with even just a small game section I was able to make a lot of adjustments with real gameplay. By continuing to adjust as I create my game rough draft, the polishing process will hopefully be a lot less painful.
