Devlog #3 Marsh
The next stop on the player’s journey takes them through the marsh. I experimented with a bunch of shaders for this part. It might be too busy; I’ll see how it looks when I update it with non-placeholder art.
I’m trying to add ways to backtrack on the maps I’m making. For the marsh it's simple enough to just ride the boat again. Since there’s a bunch of rats to recruit, players might want to go back for ones they may have missed. It’ll just be shortcuts for now, but near the end of the game I’ll think of a fast travel to make end game completion easier. Maybe some sort of flying rat.
With this part, there’s enough rats for a full party. I plan on having 3 front fighters and 2 in backup for any battle. The rest of the rats will slack off in the player’s backpack. Slacker rats won’t gain exp, but just like fast travel I plan on having ways to boost lower level rats near the end game so players can plan out a final party.
